We highly recommend Thai Elephant Home - check them out on facebook. There are a lot more pictures of us on there too. We gave our camera to one of the employees who took a zillion photos of us which was really great!
We did laugh because both Jeff and I did freak ourselves out, or rather remind ourselves of the reality that these elephants are BIG and HEAVY and although we paid to see them that doesn't mean we won't get stepped on or nudged! Within the first 10-15 minutes, we both got stepped on by the 200 kg playful baby and then Jeff got hipped checked as the baby pushed him over. We weren't hurt, but were very aware of how big these animals are and they have right of way... always!
We really got to see the elephants in their natural environment, and although these pictures are of us posing we did spend hours just watching them. It was AWESOME! A real highlight of all my travels!!!

both girls really wanted to feed the babies, but the Mammas seemed hungrier! |

And Baby elephant goes forward to step on our feet!! |

the elephants are coming! |

our guide convinced us to do a great mineral bath.... probably not the best idea since all photos afterward had remnant of mud on our face |
 |
Immediately after the elephants bath they dusted themselves with sand - the guide said for sun and bug protection |

how about you just kneel and turn your back on the elephant walking behind you.... |
