Love on Valentine's Day and throughout the Year
Love has been the theme at our Unitarian Universalist church for a few weeks, and our Reverend has been emailing love quotes daily which has prompted me to send Valentine's Day cards this year, as I think it's a nice time to remember how important and strong love and remind close friends and family with a card. Though I initially wanted to put a quote on the cards, in the end I thought I'd just send the photo of our girls and post some quotes on the blog; below are some that we like:
"Love is not just a Valentine. It is a covenant with the greater good. It involves charity, compassion, empathy, self-sacrifice and yes, listening." Kathleen Parker
"Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we have learned hee. The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and the acceptance of love ack into our hearts." Marianne Williamson
"You will find as you look upon your life that the moments when you have truly lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love." Hentry Drummond
“Love and ever more love is the only solution to every problem that comes up.
If we love each other enough, we will bear with each other's faults and burdens.
If we love enough, we are going to light a fire in the hearts of others.
And it is love that will burn out the sins and hatreds that sadden us. It is love that will make us want to do great things for each other. No sacrifice and no suffering will then seem too much.”
― Dorothy Day
