Calligraphy, Bio Park and Bike Ride

It was a great weekend with the highlight being learning how to do Japanese calligraphy in kanji.  Friends of friends, Risa, Miki and Urika came over to teach us and we all had a great time.  I was impressed by how well the girls did.  We learned to write our first and last names.

Miki and Urika had fun photo apps on their phones which the girls loved!

We also went to Bio Park this weekend with Morgan's Girl Scout troop - the last fun meeting before summer.  The girls were each given 1000 yen ($10) to save or feed the animals.  Most of the girls opted to save their money for the gift store and Morgan and Bella each picked out little bunny rabbits.

And this morning I got in a nice 50 mile bike ride - first ride since breaking my ankle in Bali - and it was fun.  My training partner Brandi had to pull the whole way and fortunately she had an hour run afterward so I could hang.  It was beautiful out.

Great week with Grandparents

My parents arrived in Nagasaki May 9th on a Princess Cruise originating in Singapore and stopping in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Taipei.  Jeff picked them up and brought them to Sasebo and it's been a week of non-stop sightseeing, getting to our girls activities, and spending time together.

Highlights of the week included:
*  shrines and temples
*  bio-park, the zoo and botanical garden
*  vistas of 99-islands and boat tour
*  Morgan's swim meet where she got two firsts and two seconds

Sadly times go by too fast.  Thanks to my wonderful husband who drove us everywhere - Hirado, Nagasaki, Saga, Fukuoka - and everywhere in between.  Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa for coming to visit - we will miss you!

Here are some photos!  Love JeLiMoBe
