Spring Break in Bali
April 8th we flew to Bali via Manila (fabulous en-airport massage!) arriving in Ubud around 2 AM Saturday the 9th. The Nyoman Sandi Guest House in Ubud was fabulous - walking distance to the city center, with beautiful grounds and pool, and family run with a cute little girl. We had a fabulous breakfast to order each day and the staff were helpful organizing private transportation for us.
We stayed in Ubud 4 nights; the highlights included:
* Kecak dance and fire show
* sunrise hike to Batur volcano (both a high and low-light as I badly sprained my ankle ending up on crutches! But fortunately for the fabulous guide/Sherpa and Jeff the kids both made it up to the top and enjoyed it)
* day trip to the beaches of Sanur, temples on the way back, and shopping areas
* sunrise yoga class at Yoga Barn
* pool time and great restaurants
From Ubud we drove to the beaches of Canggu staying at the Wayan Guest House 100 meters from Berawa beach. Here we met up with friends Cecily, Jason and Elias who were visiting from San Diego and rented a beautiful villa just a few hundred meters from us - a very fun and unplanned treat to get to catch up! We spent the new few days meeting up at the beach, Splash Park and lounging at their villa. We also spent a day with a car and driver exploring Tenah Lot and Uluwatu temples.
Despite being on crutches I was able to do most everything planned thanks to Jeff who really helped me get around and then had to Sherpa everything and navigate traffic.
Just as we arrived in the middle of the night, we left at 1:30 AM on April 16. I was really impressed with what great travelers our little ones are becoming - up for anything and flexible on naps, food, and the heat.
Here are a few photos from our trip. Love you all JeLiMoBe
