Palm Springs - Golf and Pool Slide!
We spent the last weekend in September at the Canyon Resort in Palm Springs.
Jeff golfed at an Arnold Palmer designed course, Silverrock - 7578 yards from the tips, making it the longest layout in Palm Springs and is one of the longest courses on the PGA tour. He shot a 75 just barely beating the rest in his 4-some who were all scratch golfers. Came down to the last hole which he birdied. He said it was gorgeous scenery and more fun than playing Torrey Pines. He was happy for the early 6:45 AM start and was done by 11. The girls and I enjoyed the Canyon Resort (same place I went on my girls' weekend in April 2012). We had a Groupon we booked in June.
The pool was shallow enough so Bella could stand and had 2 slides. A pretty fast slide for shorter people - Jeff caught air twice going down it and his legs swung way up over the side. And a baby slide that Bella and Morgan loved. I would catch Bella every time and she loved it!!!
The place has a full kitchen so we brought food and cooked a pasta dinner. Went into Palm Springs to walk around and for ice cream! It was a 1-bedroom w/ a pull out couch and 2 TVs. The girls had a slumber party both nights! Sat night we watched Shrek and Jeff made popcorn. Today we played at the pool for a few hours before heading home.
Taking the 15 to the 74 to the 79 makes it pretty quick. 2 hours and no traffic either way. The perfect get-a-way family weekend!
