John and Kaitlin's Wedding - Puerto Vallarta

What a gorgeous spot for a wedding - Le Kliff Puerto Vallarta!!!  John and Kaitlin had a unique, fun, and beautiful wedding ceremony with lots of activities planned for all the guests.  Thursday night we went to La Bodega Del Medio with both Kaitlin's parents and brother, and my parents.  La Bodega is where both John and I celebrated our 30th birthdays.

Friday morning we met parents at Los Buros Bar in Old PV.  In the evening John and Kaitlin had welcome cocktails at the Sheraton, followed by karaoke and toasting.  Was great to reconnect with their friends and see lots of people we've known over the years.

Sat was the big event which started with a beer and welcome drink at Le Kliff.  The ceremony was overlooking the Pacific and incorporated special spots for the siblings and guests to feel a part of it.  They had mariachi music playing as soon as they were wed - very festive.   The food was fabulous and the toasts were great.  My Dad's was funny and incorporated various parts of John's life and also included word from my Mom.  There was guitar music playing throughout dinner.  Dancing after dinner and late night tacos al pastor, and cigar roling.  What a fun and memorable night!

Sunday there were apps and beer on the beach as people left.  We had a great time.

Special thanks to Aunt Kiki for watching the girls!  Not only did she watch for a long weekend, but the entire week.  Jeff and I had a great time relaxing and having time to reconnect.  It was very special and we never worried about the girls.  Thanks so much.  And when we got back Morgan wanted to stay longer - the girls loved it!!  What a treat for them too.  They were taken to dinner, zoo, activities - play dates with cousins.

Fun Family Time in Michigan

It was great coming home and being met at the airport by Aunt Kristin and Grandpa Roger to help load up out stuff and take us home.  It was a fun, busy few days visiting family before heading off to Uncle John's wedding.  Here some pictures - love you all!

Rome Marathon

It was probably a bit ambitious to try to do the Rome Marathon, the day before flying back to the US (6:40 AM flight from Naples), but instead I felt like the timing worked out perfectly so I could squeeze it in!  With John's wedding the following Sat March 24, we didn't have much wiggle room, plus wanted to see Jeff's family in Michigan before heading to Puerto Vallarta.

Have I said before Jeff is my hero and biggest support fan?  We all headed up to Rome Sat AM so I could register and run Sun.  Jeff took the girls on the double stroller in the Italian metro (mind you there are no elevators and lots of crowds!).  He managed to find me a few times on the course which was hugely motivation.  Don't ask him how we met up at the end because I messed up the meeting point and hours later we still hadn't connected in Rome!  We finally caught the 7:40 PM train back to Naples!

Then the next day, he managed to get us to the airport with our 4 baby items and 8 suitcases!!!  The run was okay - I went out too fast, but in the end was just 8 seconds slower than my Dublin time though was slowly jogging toward the end.  3:27.04.   I was happy and it was fun to run by all the big sites - a nice way to finish our stay.
