Happy Halloween!

Because Halloween cards (as the seasonal greetings in lieu of Christmas/New Years) were a hit, we decided to do it again this year and even planned for it. We bought Morgan's Halloween costume, a Pink French Poodle, when we were in Detroit last Sept. and took it with us to Paris to get the perfect shot for the card.

We sent out the cards 2 weeks in advance, but no one has received them yet.... But the thought was there.

The day before Halloween Jeff golfed in a scramble. Saturday, Halloween, we went to a 3-mile Breast Cancer Awareness run and then went to Avellino in search of a chocolate truffle festival with Ellen. In the evening we met up with friends for trick-or-treating. Mo was adorable. She didn't exactly get the receiving part without giving it back. Usually her games are more interactive than - here you go - bye! She then would give what she got to other kids. Very cute!

Sunday I went for my weekly cycle ride. This one was 42 miles followed by a 4 mile run. Pretty easy compared to last weeks 82 mile with 3400 ft of climbing!

Love you all,

Liz, Jeff and Morgan

Columbus Day Umbria Weekend

We went on a biking/family trip to Umbria over the long weekend with 3 other families (4 other kids for Mo to play with) - my triathlon training friends. Friday 10/9 we drove to Pescaroli in the Abruzo National Park. Three of us cyclists biked in the last 20 miles - mainly up hill - through the park. It was gorgeous as many of the leaves had turned orange/red and the sun was setting. Our friend Katy organized the trip and had arranged for us to stay at B&B/agriturismo places. Friday night's place was great - dinner and breakfast included with locally grown foods. We brought Bocche ball and everyone had fun playing.

Saturday Jeff rode with Sydnye (the oldest daughter), and 3 other guys around the lake for a 10 mile ride. When they got back we swapped out, and I road 50 miles toward our 2nd hotel. Because the 2nd spot was a lot farther, we did get picked up. While we road the rest of the gang went to see the largest waterfalls in Europe.

Sunday we biked another 50 miles from our hotel outside of Terni to Assisi. It was again really hilly but beautiful. Small country roads with gorgeous countryside and small towns. We hit a little rain, but it wasn't too bad. We had time to explore Assisi at night. Very old Catholic town with a huge Basilica. We stayed at a very cute B&B downtown.

Monday we drove to Perugia, had lunch and then drove back to Naples. It was a great trip! We didn't take that many photos and haven't gotten them from the group yet so more to follow.
