5-day Paris trip

September 25th we took Easy Jet from Naples to Paris for a long 5-day weekend. We found a nice hostel in Montamarte with our own shower/sink, and shared bathroom for 60EU/night. It was great - Hotel Bonjesour - close to the metro.

We did all the typical sites - Notre Dame Cathedral, Louvre (did you see Mo's melt down in front of the Mona Lisa?! HA), Eiffel Tour and I ran in the hilly 10-mile Paris-Versailles run. There were 20,000 runners - the race actually sold out! - and it took me 1 hour to cross the starting line. Amazing that Jeff was able to find me at the end.

Morgan had a blast because almost every metro stop has it's own carousel/merry-go-round. She loved it, and is a great traveller.

Labor Day Week in Detroit

Hoping that Jeff's employment is just around the corner and quickly realizing that means that he'll then have to beg for time off at X-mas and for our ski Austria week in January, we figured we should go back to visit family in Michigan while we still could. We quickly found cheap flights on Expedia and headed out. Jeff flew out Aug 31 to have a little more time with his friends and then I flew out with Mo on 9/3. Morgan did okay considering she's a teething toddler bored on all the long flights... We made it.

We've been having a great time in Michigan and have been able to see Jeff's sister Kristin, his parents (Mo's grandparents - Roger and Susan, and Nana Nancy and Greg), his grandma, his Aunt Sherrie and his cousin Lisa and her 3-year old. We've celebrated Jeff's 38th birthday a few times with cake and ice cream and Dairy Queen. And Morgan got her ears pierced. I couldn't handle it so went to buy her a chocolate chip cookie which she smeared across her face afterward. The piercing was quick and didn't bother her too bad.

Morgan's really growing up fast. She's been signing and talking, and dancing up a storm. I'm not sure where she got her dance moves, but she does these deep squats and moves her hands super fast. It's hilarious. She dances to classical, country, rap - she loves it all and has quite good rhythm. She's moving fast and picking up new things. And she loves dogs. Kristin's dog Zoey is her favorite. She's been signing and saying dog all week!

Kristin took us on her boat at Grosse Ille which was really fun. We met up with some of her friends and spent the day swimming and hanging out on Fox Island. It's gorgeous out here!

Here are some photos.
