Maaike's Wedding and More
Now that I've become addicted to facebook, it's hard to update two things - though this provides a better record of events. Maaike and Paul got married on August 31st over Labor Day weekend in Monterey. The weekend was so much fun - full of events. My parents flew into San Diego Wednesday 8/27 and we all drove up in our minivan - Morgan's first big road trip! We stopped in LA to see John for breakfast and then had an Indonesian food feast at Maaike's parents house for dinner with her Dutch relatives.
Friday morning we got our nails done and afterwards I met up with Jeff, Morgan and my parents for a scenic drive. We drove part of the 17-mile drive to Pebble Beach and then Hwy 1 to Big Sur where we went to the Pfieffer State Beach. Friday evening we met up with Maaike and her friends at a pub in downtown Monterey for happy hour. Saturday afternoon we all went wine tasting and Saturday night Maaike's parents had everyone over for an open house dinner.
Sunday was the big event! I got to the beautiful country club located in the hills of Monterey to help Maaike get dressed before the 11 AM ceremony which was held outdoors. Maaike and Paul couldn't of asked for better weather. Kids were not invited, but Morgan's babysitter canceled (had to go to the hospital) so she came along. Morgan's 1st wedding. She had just got the cutest hand-me-down from a friend to wear. The ceremony was perfect and Maaike looked beautiful. The ceremony was followed by a sit-down lunch and cake cutting. That evening there was a buffet dinner and reception on the beach.
Monday we drove back without much traffic at all and Tuesday my parents flew home. It was a great weekend. Wednesday Morgan had her first swim lesson and she loved it. And because she did so well receiving the highest marks, Dad feels confident in going to her lesson Friday without freaking out.
Here are some photos! Love Liz, Jeff and Morgan

Maaike looks gorgeous! I love Morgan in her pretty dress. That photo in Big Sur is great! What troopers you guys are to do so much over a weekend with itty bitty Miss Morgan.
