Lana's Wedding - Jordan Photos!

October 13 - Amman, Jordan

Marhaba! We arrived in Amman last night and Lana and her parents were there to meet us at the airport. We got in around 7 PM, hit a late-night shwarma stand on the way to the hotel - yummy! - and got to the Marriott by about 9 PM. Of course we stayed up until midnight, then slept until 4:30. At first we thought we were really jet-lagging, but then laughed that we had quickly gotten accostumed to our "regular" morning routine! Had a great breakfast at the hotel, then took a cab to Jerash about 1hour away to see the best preserved Roman ruins outside of Europe that were amazing! Columns dating back to 33 BC! We took loads of photos and are going to get ready to head downtown for some shopping. Though today is the Eid (post-Rammadan parties) so am not sure sure what all will be open.

Tonight we are meeting up with Lana's and Christo's family for dinner at 9 PM. Tomorrow we have arranged for one of Lana's friend's drivers to take us to Petra via Madaba, Mt. Nemo and some other sights.

We are having a great time and for those of you that are worried, we feel extremely safe here. We send our love and will try to write again, but aren't sure we'll have time. It's a quick trip and we will be back home 10/21 at 10 PM.
